Why So Many People Stay Stuck
Many people are waiting for the perfect moment—praying for success but never taking action. The truth? Faith moves first.
Proverbs 16:9 tells us, “The heart of a man plans his way, but the Lord establishes his steps.” You plan, but God guides—and He can’t direct steps you refuse to take.
So how do you break free and start walking in your God-given calling? Here’s a four-step framework to help you take action today.
1️⃣ Identify Your God-Given Dream
If you don’t know where you’re going, you’ll never get there. Clarity is step one in elevating your life.
Proverbs 29:18 states, “Where there is no vision, people perish.”
A God-sized dream will:
Stretch you—If it doesn’t scare you, it’s too small.
Require faith—If you can do it alone, it’s just a goal, not a calling.
How to Get Clear on Your Dream:
Pray and ask God to reveal His vision for your life.
Write down what keeps stirring in your heart, no matter how often you ignore it.
Stop filtering your dreams through fear, doubt, or what the world says is possible.
2️⃣ Surrender Your Dream to God
Once you have a dream, your next step isn’t hustling—it’s surrendering.
Don’t force it.
Don’t try to control the outcome.
Don’t let fear make you shrink your dream.
Instead, trust that God will establish your steps. His timing is perfect, but He can’t move if you’re holding on too tightly.
3️⃣ Get to Work: Faith Requires Action
Faith is not passive. You pray, you trust, and then you move.
If you were trying to milk a cow, would you sit on a stool in the middle of a field and wait for it to come to you? Of course not! You’d get up and go after it.
That’s how faith works. James 2:17 reminds us, “Faith without works is dead.”
Want a thriving business? Start building.
Praying for opportunities? Prepare and develop your skills.
Dreaming of impact? Step out, even before you feel ready.
God won’t do what He’s called YOU to do.
Your job is to work. His job is to guide. But He can’t guide you if you’re standing still!
4️⃣ Serve While You Build
Your breakthrough often comes not when you strive for success, but when you serve others.
Joseph is a powerful example of this. He had a huge dream as a teenager—to be a leader of influence. But instead of stepping into his calling immediately, his journey took a detour:
Betrayed by his brothers
Sold into slavery
Falsely accused and thrown into prison
Yet, in every season, he served faithfully.
Genesis 39:2 says, “The Lord was with Joseph and he prospered.” Because of his faithfulness in the small spaces, God elevated him in a single moment—from a prisoner to a leader who saved an entire nation.
The Elevation Mindset: God Lights the Path as You Walk
Most people hesitate because they can’t see the full picture. But faith doesn’t work like that.
Psalm 37:23 reminds us, “The steps of a righteous man are ordered by the Lord.”
Think of walking with a flashlight in the dark:
You don’t see the whole road—just the next step.
But as you move, more is revealed.
Stand still, and you’ll stay stuck forever.
So what step are you afraid to take? The enemy keeps people stuck in fear, but bold action leads to breakthrough.
Your Next Step Starts Today
Write down your God-given dream. Be bold. Be specific.
Surrender it to God—trust Him with the outcome.
Take one action step today, even if it’s small.
Serve while you build—your breakthrough is often found in helping others.
Your next step is waiting. The only question is—are you ready to take it?
