Turning Up the Thermostat on Your Dreams: Aligning Vision with God’s Plan
Have you ever felt like your dreams have been collecting dust, sitting on a shelf, waiting for the right moment? If so, you’re not alone. Many of us have dreams that once ignited a fire in our hearts but were pushed aside by the demands of life. The good news? It’s time to dust them off and turn up the thermostat on those dreams.
Your Internal Thermostat: The Hidden Barrier to Success
Think of a thermostat in your home. If it’s set at 60 degrees, no matter how warm it gets outside, the system will regulate the temperature to never exceed that setting. Your dreams function the same way. If your internal thermostat is set too low—if you believe you’re only capable of small things—you’ll never break past those limitations.
It’s time to reset that thermostat. Imagine yourself as a child again, when the possibilities were endless. What did you dream about then? What would you pursue if money, comfort, and societal expectations weren’t in the equation? God has placed those dreams inside of you for a reason, and it’s time to start pursuing them fearlessly.
Aligning Your Dreams with God’s Will
Before you can fully embrace your dreams, you need to ask God to reveal them. Take a moment of quiet reflection and ask: “God, what is the dream You have placed in my heart?” He has designed you for a purpose, and the dreams within you are part of that divine plan.
Another major roadblock? Your relationship with money. Many people struggle with the belief that it’s wrong to desire abundance. However, the Bible doesn’t say money is evil—it warns that the love of money is the root of evil. When we align our dreams with God’s will and use our success to bless others, we step into the abundance He desires for us.
Seeing the Dream Before It Becomes Reality
Everything in existence was created twice—first in the mind, then in reality. Your dreams must first exist in your imagination before they manifest in your life. Close your eyes and visualize your dream in vivid detail. What does it look like? How does it feel? Can you see yourself walking in it as if it already exists?
In the book of Numbers, Moses sent twelve men to scout the Promised Land. Ten saw only obstacles, while two—Joshua and Caleb—saw the promise of victory. Those who lacked vision never stepped into their inheritance. But those who saw the dream through God’s eyes claimed their destiny. The same principle applies to you: faith is seeing the dream before it happens.
The Power of Your ‘Why’
Your motivation for chasing your dream is what will fuel your persistence. If your dream is only about material things—money, cars, vacations—it won’t sustain you. But if your dream is tied to a greater purpose, to serving others, or to making an impact, nothing will be able to stop you.
Consider this: Would you jump into shark-infested waters for $1,000? Probably not. What about $100,000? Likely still no. But if your child fell in, you wouldn’t hesitate. Why? Because the ‘why’ is greater than the risk.
Your dreams need a ‘why’ that’s so powerful it compels you to keep going, even when obstacles arise. A dream that serves only you will eventually fade, but a dream that serves others will set your soul on fire.
Step Into Your Dreams with Bold Faith
You were created for more than just an average existence. It’s time to stop living by the world’s blueprint and start stepping into God’s divine plan for your life. When you align your vision with His will, trust in His abundance, and hold onto a deep ‘why,’ nothing will be able to stop you.
So, what do you dream? Write it down. Dream big. And most importantly—believe in it. Because the life God has in store for you is waiting just beyond your comfort zone.
