Dust Off Your Dreams: Living the Life You're Meant For
Feb 24, 2025
Let’s Talk About Dreams
Hey there! I’m really excited you’re here because today we’re diving into something very special—your dreams. So, let me ask you, what are your dreams? I know it gets harder to answer as we get older. Maybe life got in the way, or someone you love tried to protect you from disappointment, so they nudged you away from dreaming. But here’s the real deal: you were made to dream. It’s vital. According to Proverbs 29:18, "Where there is no vision, the people perish." So let’s shake off the dust from those old dreams. Today, we invite God into our journey and step towards the life He wants for us.
Rediscovering Your Dreams
Alright, let’s ask again: What are your dreams? Perhaps they’ve been boxed up, gathering dust in the attic of your mind or hidden deep in the cloud of forgotten things. It’s time to pull them down. I encourage you to ask God to show you the dreams He planted in your heart. Remember, Matthew 7:7 tells us, "Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and the door will be opened to you." Dreams aren’t about chasing fairytales; they’re about embracing the unique purpose God has for you. Let’s clean off that dust, take a close look, and get ready to live them out.
Aligning Dreams with God’s Will
Now, let’s make sure these dreams line up with God’s plan for you. This is crucial because if they don’t align with His will, they might not truly fulfill you in the long run. How can you tell if a dream is from God? Well, a God-given dream usually isn’t just about personal gain—it’s about serving others, spreading love, and reflecting His light into the world. Such dreams energize you, fill your thoughts, and seem bigger than anything you could achieve on your own. If your dream gets you excited like that, you're likely on the right path.
Attracting Your Dreams
Let's rethink the usual advice about reaching your dreams. The common wisdom is to hustle and grind. Sure, hard work is important, but it's not just about the grind. It’s about becoming the person who can truly live those dreams. Shift your focus from striving for success to serving and loving others. Get so involved in giving and serving that you grow without even realizing it.
Living a Life of Service
When you align your heart with God’s and commit to serving others, amazing things happen. I’ve heard countless stories and even seen for myself how giving freely opens the door to receiving more than we ever thought possible. Jesus puts it simply in Luke 6:38: "Give, and it will be given to you. A good measure, pressed down, shaken together and running over, will be poured into your lap." The more love you give, the more you find that life gives back to you.
Challenge: Reflect and Serve
Here’s a small challenge for the week: Take some quiet time to talk with God. Just close your eyes and ask Him to reveal the dreams He has placed in your heart. Reflect on these dreams and make sure they align with His will. Ask yourself if these dreams pull you towards serving others. Shift your focus from grinding to giving, and look for small ways to spread kindness and love around you. Simple acts, like smiling at a stranger or opening a door, can set you on the path to living your dreams.
